I’ve been photographing Paris in black and white since 2002 starting with slide film and moving into Tri-X 400 print film. Most of these black and white photos were taken with a film camera. With only 36 shots per roll, each shot is precious.
The experience of waiting patiently for an image that tells a story to fill the frame and then waiting again for the film to be developed to see if one got the image, does not happen with digital photography. I do miss that anticipation.
These black and white images are some of my favourite out of the thousands I’ve taken over the years. Each image definitely holds a story for me and I hope for you.
